Steve Ortiz
Steve began his career in the Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) industry in 2010 in Hayward, CA. Starting as a technician in the East Bay, he spent five years honing his skills before becoming a RESNA-certified ATP in 2015, providing specialized equipment for Kaiser members.
During his time as a technician, Steve developed a deep understanding of equipment and a knack for creative problem-solving. This hands-on experience fostered a keen eye for CRT fitment, enabling him to tailor solutions that meet the unique needs of each individual. Learning from skilled "old school" wheelchair technicians, he also became proficient in fabricating custom parts when needed.
“I learned that if something didn’t fit or wasn’t available, we could make it,” Steve recalls. “Mistakes could be fixed, which gave me the confidence to innovate.”
Steve takes pride in providing clients with a variety of options during equipment evaluations, ensuring their unique needs and preferences are met. His dedication to craftsmanship, fitment, and personalized solutions continues to enhance the lives of those relying on CRT equipment.
